Kratom vendor reviews
1. Kraken Kratom: widest range

AKA listed. Pick it if you want everything in one cart. Kraken advertises free 2-3 day shipping on every order. Powder starts at $7.49/oz and bulk bags at $149.99. It also sells capsules, crushed leaf, gummies and tablets. Refunds and exchanges need a request within 30 days of delivery, and you pay return shipping. Not the cheapest per kilo.
Kraken also has an “Extract & Enhanced Kratom” category. Those are concentrated products, not plain leaf, so check the 7-OH number on the COA before you buy one. See current prices at krakenkratom.com →
2. New Dawn Kratom: best value, longest guarantee

AKA listed. This is where I’d send a beginner first. 45-day refund, the longest on this list. The 4-way split kilo is $99.99: four 250 g bags of different strains, so you find out which one suits you before you buy a full kilo of it. The sample pack (3 x 250 g) is $79.99. Free shipping over $100. Narrower strain list than Kraken and no extracts. See current prices at newdawnkratom.com →
3. Left Coast Kratom: cheap samples, free shipping from $49

AKA listed. If you want to test a vendor before you spend real money, start here. Powder samples start at $2.95. So testing a few strains costs a few dollars.
Shipping is free from $49. Order before 2 p.m. PT on a weekday and it ships the same day. Spend $99 and you get free Priority Mail. Spend $299 and it goes UPS Next Day for free.
The testing page is the part I’d read first. Left Coast lists the full panel there: arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury, plus salmonella, E. coli, yeast and mold. It says it uses two or more labs and only sells what passes. Every label carries a lot number. That’s the exact check from the COA section below.
The catch is the refund. You get 30 days, but only on sealed bags. You also pay return shipping. Opened kratom doesn’t get a refund. So start with samples and save the kilo for the strain you like.
Kilos run $149.99 on sale and capsules start at $12.99. It also sells extracts, shots and gummies. Check the 7-OH line on any extract’s COA before you buy one. Join the VIP list and you get 10% off your first order. See current prices at left-coast-kratom.com →
4. Kona Kratom: fastest shipping

AKA listed. Order before 4 p.m. PT on a weekday and it ships that day. Kona says it grinds the leaf just before packaging. 20+ strains, each sold as powder or capsules. The 30-day guarantee covers opened product too. Not every vendor does that. The homepage doesn’t list the full test panel, so ask for the batch COA. See current prices at konakratom.com →
5. Kratom Spot: bundles and regional choice

AKA listed. 30-day guarantee, free shipping over $100. Red, green and white strains from Bali, Maeng Da, Thai, Malay and Sumatra, as powder or capsules, plus bundles. Most products run $9.99 to $159.99, which puts it mid to high on price. See current prices at kratomspot.com →
6. Golden Monk: no-fuss replacements

AKA listed (as “The Golden Monk”). If you’re unhappy, Golden Monk offers a replacement or a refund. Weekday orders before 2 p.m. MT ship the same day. Powder, capsules and split kilos. Maeng Da runs $23.99 to $52.99. Stock changes by strain, so check the product page, and read the transparency page for test details. See current prices at goldenmonk.com →
7. ETHA Natural Botanicals: tablets and traceability

Not on the AKA list. ETHA says it follows its own GMP standards. A QR code on each product links to its lab results, which is the strongest traceability among the non-AKA picks. ETHA says it grows live plants in Southern California, and it sells powder, tablets, extract shots and mints. 30-day refund policy. Its store shows 4.7/5 from 1,496 reviews, but those are on its own site, so give them less weight than outside reviews. If AKA status is your hard line, pick one of the first six. More on kratom chewable tablets. See current prices at ethanaturals.com →
8. Kratora (buykratom.us): long track record

Not on the AKA list. Kratora says it has traded for 13+ years and offers a 30-day refund. Its store runs at buykratom.us, so “Buy Kratom US” reviews are Kratora reviews. Same-day shipping before 3 p.m. ET and free USPS Priority over $100. Prices per ounce run above the budget vendors. See current prices at buykratom.us →
How to read a kratom lab report (COA) in 60 seconds
A COA is useful only if the lot number matches your bag. Check five lines.
- Lot number. Must match your package.
- Lab and date. An independent lab, tested in the last 6 to 12 months.
- Mitragynine. Plain leaf sits around 1-2%. Much higher points to an extract.
- 7-OH. Plain leaf has only traces. The DEA’s proposed threshold is 0.05% of dry weight.
- Heavy metals and microbes. Lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, salmonella, E. coli, yeast and mold, each with units. A report that lists only alkaloids is incomplete.
If a vendor can’t send a COA when you ask, you have your answer.
Two big names missing from the AKA list
Happy Go Leafy and Super Speciosa sit near the top of many 2026 “best kratom brands” lists. Neither was on the AKA GMP Qualified Vendors list on 6 Oct 2026. Happy Hippo Herbals, Kingdom Kratom, Oasis Kratom and Jacks Botanicals were.
Not listed doesn’t mean unsafe. It means nobody outside the company has audited how it’s made, so you rely on the vendor’s own lab reports. That’s why the checks below matter more than any ranking, mine included.
How to compare kratom vendors online: the 5 checks I used
- AKA directory. Search the vendor on the AKA GMP Qualified Vendors list. A badge on the vendor’s own site doesn’t count.
- A real COA. Open the lab report for one product. No report, no order.
- Reviews off the vendor’s site. Look for buyer reviews on third-party platforms and r/kratom threads, not on the store itself.
- Refund policy. 30 to 45 days is normal. Check whether opened product is covered.
- Price per gram. Compare kilo prices. That’s where online vendors beat shops the most.
Fail step 2 and I walk away. Fail only step 1 and a small first order can still make sense if the lab reports hold up. The last two picks fail step 1. Each made the list for one thing the first six don’t offer: tablets (ETHA) and 13+ years of trading (Kratora).
6 red flags to check before you buy
- No batch COA, or the wrong lot number
- Health claims like “cures pain” or “treats anxiety”
- A price far below everyone else and no test data
- “Enhanced” or 7-OH products sold as if they were ordinary kratom
- Shipping to states where kratom is banned
- Only perfect reviews, all on its own site
Gas station kratom needs extra suspicion. It costs more per gram, rarely has a COA, and may be a 7-OH product instead of leaf. Names are in my list of kratom brands to stay away from.
Want a shortlist that has already passed an outside audit? Start with the six AKA vendors in the comparison table.
What makes the highest quality kratom? “Kratom premium” means nothing
“Premium” and “super premium” are marketing words, not lab results. The highest quality kratom comes down to five things: published alkaloids, a batch COA, AKA GMP status, freshness and plain leaf.
The five quality checks
1. Published alkaloids. Effects come mostly from mitragynine. Plain leaf has around 1-2% by weight, so a gram at 1.8% carries 50% more mitragynine than a gram at 1.2%. A vendor that publishes mitragynine per batch gives you the most useful number on the label.
2. A batch-specific COA. An independent lab report that matches the lot number on your bag, not a generic sample from years ago.
3. AKA GMP. The AKA’s GMP Standards Program requires an independent audit of manufacturing, labeling and testing. It’s the closest thing kratom has to a quality seal. It audits how a company makes products, not which products it sells, so some AKA brands sell extracts too.
4. Freshness. Light, heat, air and moisture degrade kratom. Vendors that grind close to shipping and use opaque, resealable packaging give more consistent product.
5. Plain leaf. Concentrated or semi-synthetic 7-OH products are now the main safety and legal risk in this market. Plain leaf with trace 7-OH isn’t the target of the DEA action.
Few vendors can document an organic certification. If you want organic kratom, ask for the certificate before you pay extra for the word.
Which kratom strain should you buy?
Green vein is the most balanced start. Red is usually chosen for evenings and white for daytime. These are user-reported patterns, not clinical findings.
Strain table
| Vein | Commonly reported effects | Popular strains | Read more |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | Relaxing, evening use | Red Bali, Red Borneo, Red Maeng Da | Red Borneo guide, kratom for sleep |
| Green | Balanced, mild focus | Green Maeng Da, Green Malay | strongest kratom strains |
| White | Energizing, morning use | White Maeng Da, White Thai, White Sumatra | kratom for energy |
Batch potency can matter as much as strain. Start with a split kilo or sample pack, not a full kilo of one strain.
Kratom powder vs capsules vs extracts
Start with loose powder from an AKA vendor. It’s the cheapest per dose and the easiest to adjust. Capsules suit people who can’t stand the taste. Kona sells every strain as capsules, and Kraken, Kratom Spot, Golden Monk and Left Coast all stock them. Extracts carry the most legal risk.
Comparison table
| Powder | Capsules | Extracts and shots | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost per dose | Lowest | Higher | Highest |
| Dose control | Full, you weigh it | Fixed per capsule | Fixed but concentrated |
| Taste | Bitter | None | Varies |
| Legal risk in 2026 | Lowest | Lowest | Highest, check 7-OH and state rules |
Kratom dosage for beginners
Kratom has no FDA-approved dose, and the FDA warns about its risks, including dependence. Community-reported ranges for plain leaf powder are below. This is not medical advice.
Reported ranges and safety notes
- 1-2 g: a low starting amount
- 2-4 g: often described as stimulating
- 4 g and above: more often described as sedating
Start low. Wait at least an hour before you judge the effect, and never raise the amount in the same session. Don’t mix kratom with alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines or other sedatives. Talk to a doctor first if you take medication, are pregnant or have a health condition.
Daily use builds tolerance and can lead to dependence. If you’re cutting back, my guide to quitting kratom covers tapering. In the US, the free, confidential SAMHSA helpline is open 24/7 at 1-800-662-4357.
Is kratom legal in my state?
Kratom leaf isn’t federally controlled, but nine states ban it and the rules changed fast in 2026. Cities and counties can ban it even where the state allows it. Check yours before you order.
Federal status, banned states and recent changes (state list as of 22 Sep 2026)
Federal. In July 2026 the DEA announced it intends to temporarily schedule 7-OH above 0.05% of dry weight (or above 1 mg per package for processed products), plus three synthetic derivatives. The order covering mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 and MGM-16 took effect on 26 Aug 2026. The 7-OH threshold order was still pending when I last checked on 4 Oct 2026. Source: DEA.
Banned states. Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut (from March 2026), Indiana, Kansas (from 1 July 2026), Louisiana (from August 2025), Tennessee (from 1 July 2026), Vermont and Wisconsin. Massachusetts temporarily classified all kratom as Schedule I from 28 Aug 2026, for up to one year.
Recent changes. Rhode Island reversed its ban and regulates kratom from 1 April 2026. North Dakota rejected a total ban in its September 2026 special session and passed a law banning 7-OH and synthetic derivatives while regulating natural leaf (North Dakota Monitor).
Consumer-protection states. More than 30 states regulate kratom under Kratom Consumer Protection Act-style laws, typically with a minimum age of 18 or 21, labeling and testing rules and caps on 7-OH. Reputable vendors block shipping to banned areas at checkout. Kona, for one, says it won’t ship where kratom is prohibited.
Online or local store?
A reputable online vendor beats a gas station or smoke shop on lab reports, price per gram, selection and refunds. The best kratom online comes from an AKA vendor, and the best kratom websites put the COA on the product page.
Side-by-side table
| Reputable online vendor | Gas station or smoke shop | |
|---|---|---|
| Lab reports (COA) | Usually published | Rarely available |
| Price per gram | Lower, especially by the kilo | Often much higher |
| Selection | Dozens of strains | A few products |
| Refunds | 30-45 day guarantees | Rarely |
| Enhanced 7-OH risk | Lower, but some AKA vendors sell extracts too | Higher |
What is packaged kratom, and what should you check?
Packaged kratom is kratom sold pre-bagged or pre-bottled in a physical store, like a gas station, smoke shop, vape shop or kava bar. The leaf can be the same Indonesian leaf. What changes is how much you can verify before you pay.
The 6-step check for a packaged product
Powder and capsules can be plain leaf. Shots, tablets and strips deserve more suspicion because concentrated and semi-synthetic 7-OH products are sold in those formats. The FDA calls 7-OH an emerging public health threat and says these products turn up in gas stations and smoke shops (FDA, July 2026).
- Find the batch number. Look for a lot code and a QR code or web address that leads to a lab report. No batch code, no purchase.
- Read the ingredients. The only ingredient should be kratom leaf (Mitragyna speciosa). Put it back if you see 7-hydroxymitragynine, “7-OH”, or an “extract” with no alkaloid numbers.
- Check the company. A store can’t be AKA GMP qualified. A manufacturer can. Search the brand on the AKA list.
- Check the format. Bagged powder and capsules are easier to verify than shots, tablets and strips.
- Compare the price. Work out the price per gram against the vendors above. A big markup buys convenience and nothing else.
- Check local rules. Some states and cities ban kratom or set a minimum age.
Who makes kratom, and who sells it in the US?
Most US kratom starts as leaf grown in Indonesia, mostly in West Kalimantan on Borneo. Exporters ship it to US importers and kratom manufacturers. Those companies sell it under their own brand names or supply stores.
How the supply chain works
Indonesia is believed to supply more than 90% of the world’s kratom. A 2022 Indonesian government statement says cultivation in West Kalimantan spans 11,384 hectares and supports about 200,000 households (Executive Office of the President of Indonesia, Aug 2022).
- Growers and collectors. Smallholders harvest the leaves.
- Processors and exporters. They dry and grind the leaf and ship it to US buyers.
- US importers and manufacturers. They test, blend, package, encapsulate or make extracts. This is the stage the AKA GMP program audits (AKA GMP Standards Program).
- Brands and vendors. The names on the bag. Some run their own facility. Others use a contract manufacturer or relabel finished product.
- Retail. Distributors supply gas stations, smoke shops and kava bars. Online vendors ship direct.
The AKA list showed 54 entries on 6 Oct 2026. It has no last-updated date, so re-check it before you buy. Also check whose name is on the lab report and which company holds the GMP qualification. If the brand can’t answer, that tells you something.
Kratom brands people ask about: is each one on the AKA list?
These are brands readers search for. I haven’t tested or ranked them. The table records one fact: whether the name appeared on the AKA GMP Qualified Vendors list on 6 Oct 2026.
Open the brand check table

| Potency Leaf | No | Same as above. |
| Naked Kratom | No | Same as above. |
| Gold Label (extract capsules) | No | Read the label for ingredients and a batch number. If you can’t find a lab report, skip it. |
“No” doesn’t mean unsafe, and “Yes” doesn’t mean it’s the right fit. It tells you whether an outside auditor has reviewed the manufacturer.
Frequently asked questions
Who sells the best quality kratom on the market?
Vendors with an independent audit and published batch lab reports. Start with the AKA GMP list. On 6 Oct 2026 Kraken Kratom, New Dawn Kratom, Left Coast Kratom, Kona Kratom, Kratom Spot and Golden Monk were all listed. Then confirm the COA for the product you buy.
What is the best kratom to buy for beginners?
New Dawn Kratom. It’s on the AKA GMP list, has a 45-day money-back guarantee and sells 4-way split kilos, so you can try four strains before you commit to one.
What is the best kratom powder to buy?
Plain leaf from an AKA GMP vendor with a batch COA that shows mitragynine, heavy metals and microbial results. Potency varies more by batch than by brand, so the COA tells you more than the label.
Is AKA GMP certification really necessary?
It isn’t required by law. It is the strongest trust signal available, because it requires an independent audit of a vendor’s manufacturing and testing. Non-AKA vendors can still sell good kratom, but you have to check their COAs yourself.
What are some companies like Kona Kratom?
If you like Kona’s fast shipping and AKA GMP status, the closest alternatives are Left Coast Kratom, Kraken Kratom, New Dawn Kratom, Kratom Spot and Golden Monk. All five were on the AKA list on 6 Oct 2026, and Left Coast also ships same day on weekday orders before 2 p.m. PT.
What is the strongest kratom brand?
No brand is consistently the strongest, because alkaloid content changes from batch to batch. Compare the mitragynine percentage on each batch’s COA. Be wary of anything marketed as extra-strong or enhanced, since it may be a concentrated 7-OH product. My strongest kratom guide compares strains by reported potency.
What kind of kratom should I buy?
Plain leaf powder from an AKA GMP vendor. It’s the best value and gives you the most control over dose. Capsules win on convenience. For strain, green vein is the most balanced start, red is usually chosen for evenings and white for daytime.
What is the cleanest, best and most legit kratom on the market?
Kratom from vendors that pass an independent AKA GMP audit and publish batch COAs with heavy metal and microbial results next to the alkaloids. Kraken, New Dawn, Left Coast, Kona, Kratom Spot and Golden Monk were on the AKA list on 6 Oct 2026.
Where can I find quality kratom reviews?
On third-party review platforms and in long-running communities like r/kratom. Then check the vendor against the AKA list. Ignore review sites that only list affiliate partners and never check certifications.
Where can I order quality kratom online? Does Amazon sell it?
Order straight from an AKA GMP vendor that publishes lab results. Amazon doesn’t allow kratom sales, so a kratom-looking listing there isn’t a reliable source.
Is kratom legal in the US in 2026?
Kratom leaf isn’t federally controlled. It’s banned in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Vermont and Wisconsin, and temporarily in Massachusetts. Rhode Island legalized regulated sales in April 2026. The DEA is moving to schedule concentrated 7-OH products. Check your state and city.
What is the most addictive kratom brand?
The risk depends on the product and how often you use it, not the brand. Any kratom can lead to dependence with regular daily use. Concentrated extracts and enhanced 7-OH products carry the highest risk. Plain leaf, low doses and regular breaks lower it. See my guide to quitting kratom.
Why do kratom vendors accept only certain payment methods?
Major payment processors restrict kratom transactions, so many legitimate vendors take eChecks or specific card processors instead. An unusual payment method alone isn’t a red flag. Cash-only or untraceable payment is.
Who is selling kratom in the US, and under what brand names?
Many companies. 54 entries were on the AKA GMP Qualified Vendors list on 6 Oct 2026, including Kraken Kratom, New Dawn Kratom, Left Coast Kratom, Kona Kratom, Kratom Spot, Golden Monk and Kratom Krates. Other brands sell without AKA qualification, so search the list by brand name.
Is Kratom Krates AKA GMP certified?
Kratom Krates appeared on the AKA GMP Qualified Vendors list on 6 Oct 2026. The list has no last-updated date, so confirm before you buy. I haven’t ranked it in this guide.
What is the cheapest kratom online?
The cheapest way to start is Left Coast Kratom. Powder samples start at $2.95 and shipping is free from $49. For a full kilo, New Dawn’s split kilo is the lowest on my list at $99.99, with a 45-day guarantee. Both were on the AKA list on 6 Oct 2026. Prices change, so confirm at checkout.
Where I’d start
All four picks below were on the AKA list on 6 Oct 2026 (affiliate links).
- Buying once to see what suits you? New Dawn’s split kilo. Four strains, about $25 each, and 45 days to change your mind.
- Want to test a few strains for a few dollars? Left Coast’s samples. From $2.95, with free shipping from $49 and a full heavy-metal and microbe test panel.
- Want capsules? Kona Kratom. Every strain comes as capsules, and weekday orders before 4 p.m. PT ship the same day.
- Want the widest choice? Kraken Kratom. Powder, crushed leaf, capsules, extracts and tablets, with free 2-3 day shipping.
Before you order, check your state’s rules. Then order small. When the bag arrives, match its lot number to the lab report before you open it. If they don’t match, ask for your refund.
