For in vitro laboratory research calculation only. Not medical advice. Verify all figures independently before use. Syringe-unit results assume a standard U-100 insulin syringe (100 units = 1 mL).

Use this pep calculator to calculate research peptide concentration and the liquid volume corresponding to a target amount. Enter your vial’s labeled peptide quantity, diluent volume, and target research amount. Select your syringe size to see the equivalent U-100 syringe units, concentration, draw volume, and estimated portions per vial.

The calculator performs the arithmetic. It does not recommend an amount or verify the contents of your vial.

What Is a PEP Calculator?

A PEP calculator helps researchers convert peptide quantities into solution concentrations and measurable liquid volumes.

Rather than working through several conversions manually, you enter the vial amount, diluent volume, and target amount. The calculator returns the corresponding concentration, volume, U-100 syringe units, and estimated number of equal portions.

Results depend entirely on the information you provide.

How to Use the PEP Calculator

  1. Enter your vial amount. Use the peptide quantity printed on your vial and select the correct measurement unit.
  2. Enter the diluent volume. Specify the actual volume of bacteriostatic water or other appropriate diluent used, in milliliters.
  3. Enter your target amount. Select the correct unit, whether milligrams (mg) or micrograms (mcg).
  4. Select your syringe size. Review the calculated volume and its equivalent U-100 syringe marking.

The peptide presets provide convenient starting values. Always verify the populated figures against your own material and research requirements. Presets are not recommended amounts or preparation instructions.

How Does Peptide Reconstitution Math Work?

The calculator uses three basic conversions.

1. Calculate concentration

Concentration (mg/mL) = Peptide amount (mg) ÷ Solution volume (mL)

2. Calculate volume

Volume (mL) = Target amount (mg) ÷ Concentration (mg/mL)

3. Convert volume to U-100 syringe units

U-100 units = Volume (mL) × 100

For example, consider a hypothetical 5 mg vial dissolved to an approximate final volume of 2 mL.

Its concentration is 2.5 mg/mL.

A hypothetical target research amount of 250 mcg equals 0.25 mg. Dividing 0.25 mg by 2.5 mg/mL gives 0.1 mL, equivalent to 10 units on a U-100 syringe.

This is an arithmetic example, not a recommended amount for any compound.

Understanding Your Calculator Results

The calculator displays several related measurements:

Concentration: The estimated peptide quantity in each milliliter of solution.

Volume to draw: The liquid volume corresponding to your entered target amount.

Syringe units: The equivalent marking on a U-100 syringe.

Per insulin unit: The calculated peptide quantity in 0.01 mL of solution.

Portions per vial: The theoretical number of equal portions based on your entered values, excluding losses during handling.

Changing the diluent volume changes concentration and the liquid volume corresponding to a given amount. It does not change the total peptide quantity originally entered.

Important Measurement Limitations

A U-100 syringe uses 100 units per milliliter. Syringes with capacities of 30, 50, or 100 units share this conversion when they are all U-100 models.

Do not confuse syringe capacity, biological International Units (IU), milligrams, and milliliters.

Calculations cannot establish peptide identity, purity, actual vial contents, sterility, or suitability for human use. Always verify your inputs independently. For prescribed medications, follow the product instructions and consult your pharmacist or prescriber rather than relying on a research calculator.

What does a PEP calculator calculate?

A peptide reconstitution calculator converts a known vial quantity, solution volume, and target research amount into concentration and corresponding liquid volume. This tool also displays U-100 syringe units, peptide quantity per syringe unit, and estimated portions per vial. It calculates measurements rather than recommending doses.

How many syringe units equal 1 mL?

On a U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units equal 1 mL. Therefore, 10 units represent 0.1 mL, and 50 units represent 0.5 mL. These are volume measurements, not fixed peptide quantities. The amount of peptide in each unit depends on the solution’s concentration.

How much bacteriostatic water should I add?

There is no universal volume suitable for every peptide or formulation. The required diluent and volume depend on the specific material and its validated preparation instructions. This calculator uses the volume you enter to calculate concentration; it does not determine which diluent or preparation method is appropriate.

What is the difference between mg, mcg, and syringe units?

Milligrams and micrograms measure mass. One milligram equals 1,000 micrograms. Syringe units on a U-100 syringe represent liquid volume, with 100 units corresponding to 1 mL. Converting a peptide amount into syringe units requires knowing the solution concentration. The units are not interchangeable without that information.

Can a peptide calculator verify the contents of my vial?

No. A calculator cannot confirm the identity, purity, sterility, or actual quantity of a substance. It performs arithmetic using the values entered. A mislabeled vial or incorrect input can produce a mathematically consistent but misleading result. Appropriate analytical testing and independently verified product documentation are separate requirements.
